Apologetics
Apologetics comes from the Ancient Greek term apologia, which means a "speech in defense."For Christians, we are called to have an answer for the Hope we have in Jesus, and to give that answer with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). The big questions we have in life (What is the meaning of life, is there life after death, and is there a God?) are often what others are asking themselves as well. Diving into apologetics helps us grow our own faith while being able to shine the light of truth to others.
Evangelism
Evangelism is then how we use our knowledge to tell others about it. As Jesus said, "Whoever has ears, let them hear" (Matthew 11:15, 13:9, and Mark 4:9). Evangelism can be intimidating but often it is not about us but those who need to hear. Learning and practicing the skill of evangelism will help you become more bold and courageous in your faith wherever God takes you in life.
